The Bravo Company MFG (BCM) Gunfighter Trigger Guard is the overall best AR-15 trigger guard because it gets high marks in almost every category, including price. Though there are trigger guards that score better in certain aspects.

Yes, this trigger guard is polymer. But polymer trigger guards are totally durable enough for even hard use. I’ve never seen a polymer trigger guard break. They do get beat up, because the polymer gets dinged. But an aluminum trigger guard gets dinged up and turns silver, too.

Whether you like polymer or not, this trigger guard is molded to provide enough space for fast trigger access, even with gloves on.

Also, this trigger guard has rounded edgesThat way you won’t get blisters or scrape your hand during weapon manipulations.

Lastly, this trigger guard comes in black and FDE. So you can get this trigger guard in a color that matches most rifles.

In the end, there are very few trigger guards that deliver such optimal function for such a low price. That’s why this trigger guard is excellent.

Budget Trigger Guard

Cons:

  • Polymer construction may not be ideal for ultimate durability sticklers.
  • Leaves the slight gap between the pistol grip and the trigger guard.

The Mission First Tactical (MFT) E-Volv AR-15 Enhanced Trigger Guard is an affordable trigger guard that offers better ergonomics than some of the more basic options.

This is another polymer trigger guardIt’s perfectly durable for even hard training and shooting. But, if you’re a stickler for metal parts, you might not be into this trigger guard.

However, if you’re not worried about polymer, this trigger guard offers more space for your trigger finger than many other trigger guards. And the most flared part of this trigger guard is nearest to the pistol grip, where your trigger finger actually goes.

So you get room for your trigger finger—even with gloves—where you need it.

If you’re got really huge gloves on, this trigger guard retains the fold-down capability of a mil-spec trigger guard.

Of course, that means this trigger guard leaves the slight gap between your pistol grip and the trigger guard. But many pistol grips fill this gap, if you don’t need to fold your trigger guard down.

Even with the slight gap, this Mission First Tactical trigger guard is still affordable that gives you lots of space for your trigger finger.

Budget Lightweight

3. PSA Custom 3-Hole Lightweight Billet Trigger Guard

Key Specs:

  • Weight:

0.4 oz

  • Fabric/Material:

7075-T6 aluminum

  • Finish:

Black

Pros:

  • 7075-T6 aluminum is as durable as you can get in a trigger guard.
  • Skeletonized to keep the weight low.
  • Cool looking squared-off design.
  • Includes a grub screw for easier installation and removal.

Cons:

  • Squared-off shape makes this trigger guard a tad bulkier than a standard shape.

The PSA Custom 3-Hole Lightweight Billet Trigger Guard is a solid go-to trigger guard for anyone who wants the durability of an aluminum trigger guard without adding much weight.

This trigger guard is machined from 7075-T6 aluminum. It’s also type 2 anodized. So it’s durable. And the finish holds up well. So you don’t get too many of those silver dings that aluminum parts are known for.

Then, this trigger guard is skeletonized to keep the weight downIt’s a solid option for a lightweight build, especially for those who don’t want a polymer trigger guard.

However, this trigger guard has a squared-off design that’s pretty cool looking. It adds a tad bit of bulk to the trigger guard, though. It’s not much. But a plain curved trigger guard has less bulk.

But, for the money, it’s hard to beat this trigger guard, especially if you’re trying to save weight.

Budget Aluminum

4. Aero Precision Billet Trigger Guard

Key Specs:

  • Weight:

0.5 oz

  • Fabric/Material:

6061-T6 aluminum

  • Gun Model:

AR-10, AR-15

Pros:

  • Aluminum construction is durable enough for hard use.
  • Narrow body stays out of the way of your knuckle and trigger finger.
  • Thin body and slight flare delivers easy and quick trigger access.

Cons:

  • Flared shape is fairly mellow and not great for shooting with super thick gloves.

The Aero Precision Billet Trigger Guard is an excellent option for anyone who wants a really solid aluminum trigger guard that’s not too pricey.

This trigger guard is made of 6061-T6 aluminumIt’s perfectly durable. Though, 7075-T6 aluminum would be a bit tougher. But the vast majority of shooters won’t even notice the difference between 6061 and 7075.

But, the shape is very nice. This trigger guard is wide enough to match up with your lower receiver. However, it gets narrower toward the middle to get out of the way of your knuckles and trigger finger.

Additionally, this trigger guard has a slight curve that gives you more space for your trigger finger. It’s not as wide as some other trigger guards. But this trigger guard gives you quick access to your trigger, even with most gloves on.

And the shape makes this trigger guard very comfortable and prevents blisters during long shooting sessions.

However, this Aero Precision trigger guard may not be the best if you regularly shoot with really thick gloves.

But most people don’t shoot with super thick gloves. So this trigger guard is an outstanding option for anyone who wants an affordable and functional aluminum trigger guard.

Aluminum Trigger Guard

5. Magpul Industries Enhanced Trigger Guard for AR15/M4

Key Specs:

  • Gun Model:

AR-15

  • Fabric/Material:

Aluminum

  • Finish:

Black

Pros:

  • Durable aluminum construction, with a thick anodized finish.
  • Flared for easy, quick trigger access, even with gloves.
  • Trigger guard shape is streamlined and doesn’t protrude too far from the bottom of the lower receiver.

Cons:

  • A grub screw instead of a roll pin would be a nice feature for easier installation.
Check on OpticsPlanet

The Magpul Industries Enhanced Trigger Guard for AR15/M4 is kind of the median trigger guard. It’s not exactly a budget trigger guard. But it’s not the coolest, most whizbang trigger guard, either.

This trigger guard is aluminum. And it’s just about as thick, if not just a touch thicker, than a mil-spec trigger guard.

Additionally, the finish is thicker than a mil-spec finish. All in all, the durability is excellent.

However, the edges are rounded to prevent blisters and discomfort while you’re running your gun.

And this trigger guard is flared to give you plenty of room for fast trigger access and gloved shooting. It’s a good all purpose shape that doesn’t stick out too far. But you could use this trigger guard even with very thick gloves. Though it would be a tight fit.

The only thing that might make this Magpul Industries trigger guard better would be a screw instead of two pins to make it easier to install. But that’s minor and not even necessary.

Overall, this is an easy go-to trigger guard that will do the trick on any rifle.

High Strength

6. Seekins Precision AR-15/M16 Billet Trigger Guard

Key Specs:

  • Weight:

0.4 oz

  • Fabric/Material:

6061 T6 aluminum

  • Finish:

Matte black, Flat Dark Earth, Red

Pros:

  • Thick aluminum construction is remarkably durable.
  • Squared contouring adds durability and looks cool.
  • Flared for quick trigger access and shooting with gloves on.

Cons:

  • Widest part of the flared body is a tad further out than ideal for many shooters.

The Seekins Precision AR-15/M16 Billet Trigger Guard is beefy and stupidly durable.

This trigger guard is 6061-T6 aluminum. But most people will never notice the difference between 6061 and 7075, anyway.

However, this trigger guard is also thicker than most trigger guards. And it has squared contouring to make it even more durable. If you want a trigger guard that’s nearly impossible to break, this one fits the bill.

Also, the finish is really durableIt takes a long time to wear through to the silver on this trigger guard.

This Seekins Precisions trigger guard has an ample flare to give you space for your trigger finger. Interestingly, the widest part is closer to the magazine well. It works well enough. But your finger tends to land closer in, where the flare is a bit narrower. However, there’s still plenty of room for shooting with gloves and whatnot.

But the main thing about this trigger guard is durability. And it delivers more durability than most shooters will ever need.

Aluminum Trigger Guard

7. Rainier Arms Modified Trigger Guard

Key Specs:

  • Fabric/Material:

Aluminum

  • Finish:

Flat Dark Earth

Pros:

  • Durable aluminum construction.
  • Flared for fast trigger access and shooting with gloves on.
  • Rounded edges prevent scrapes and blisters.
  • Lightening cut keeps the weight as low as possible.

Cons:

  • Slightly wider body might rub the knuckle on your middle finger during non-standard safety manipulations.

The Rainier Arms Modified Trigger Guard is a complete package that offers an excellent user experience from installation to shooting.

First, this trigger guard installs with screws. So the installation process is super easy. And there’s no danger of slipping and scratching the finish on your lower receiver.

Then, it’s flared to give you fast, easy trigger access, even with gloves on. And there’s a lightening cut in the body to keep the weight as low as possible.

Lastly, all the edges are rounded to prevent blisters and scrapes from running your gun.

The only real downside to this Rainier Arms trigger guard is that the body is a bit wide.

I don’t think it will be a problem for everyone. But I noticed that it rubbed the knuckle of my middle finger a bit raw if I needed to run a right-handed safety with my left hand. It might not be an issue for standard safety operation.

Even with that weird quirk, this trigger guard is an excellent option for most shooters (i.e. people who don’t need to run a right-handed safety with their left hand). It installs easily. It’s lightweight. The shooting experience is great. And it’s not TOO expensive.
