A stock Glock trigger is… Not the best. The reset is amazing. But the trigger press can be a little bit rough. And it’s often a tad heavier than the stated 5.5 pound pull weight.

There are reasons to stick with a Glock OEM Connector. But, if you want a better trigger press than you get from a bone stock Glock, you’ll need to dig up an improved Glock connector.

The ZEV CONNPRO Pro Connector is one of the most popular Glock connectors for custom Glocks, especially competition Glocks.

That’s because it’s a super polished drop-in trigger upgrade. There’s no need to polish or finish anything. And it gives you a nearly competition grade trigger pressJust replace your stock connector with this one for a greatly improved trigger press.

The connector itself is polished stainless steel. In terms of durability, it’s pretty much the same as the Glock OEM trigger connector. However, the friction surfaces are much smoother than a stock connector.

I couldn’t find any documentation from ZEV that showed exactly what the trigger pull weight was supposed to be with this connector. But it seems to land between 3.5 and 4.5 pounds. If all your other parts are stock, it will probably be closer to 4.5 pounds.

Either way, the trigger pull weight with this connector is pretty ideal for most shooting contexts.

It’s not so light that you’re going to accidentally cook off a round when you just mean to touch the trigger. But it’s light enough that you can easily press the trigger without disturbing your point of aim.

Lastly, this connector is more affordable than many competing connectors. It’s not quite as affordable as a Glock OEM connector. But it’s super reasonably priced. And you get a lot of performance for the money.

Short Reset

2. LANTAC SSR-3.5 Super Short Reset Connector

Key Specs:

  • Trigger Pull:

3.5 Pound

  • Fabric/Material:

Steel

  • Finish:

Stainless

Pros:

  • Polished finish is outstanding and produces very smooth trigger movement.
  • Reduces trigger pull weight to about 3.5 pounds.
  • Shortens your trigger reset for faster strings of fire.
  • Very reasonably priced, considering the performance.

Cons:

  • Trigger pull weight may be too light for some shooter’s duty or concealed carry preferences.

LANTAC produces some of the best-finished firearms parts on the market. Everything they make runs super smooth. So it makes sense that the LANTAC SSR-3.5 Super Short Reset Connector would produce an exceptional trigger press.

That exceptional trigger press comes from the finish on this connector. LANTAC has polished the friction surfaces to a mirror smooth finishIt removes any grit from the trigger movement.

Additionally, this trigger connector reduces the trigger pull weight by about 2 pounds. So your trigger will come at around 3.5 pounds, assuming you don’t change any other parts.

There’s some debate around whether or not 3.5 pounds is too light for a duty or concealed carry gun. I’ll leave that decision up to you, for now. Either way, this connector makes pressing the trigger without shifting your point of aim very easy.

Also, this connector shortens the reset. LANTAC says “super short reset.” I don’t know if I’d call the reset with this trigger bar super short. But it is a tad shorter than the standard Glock trigger reset. So it’s easy to make quick follow-up shots with this connector.

Overall, this LANTAC model is an excellent connector that improves your trigger press from break to reset. And the price is about average for aftermarket Glock connectors. So the value is great.

Tactical Glock Connector

3. Apex Tactical Specialties Performance Connector

Key Specs:

  • Dimension:

0.10 x 3.05 x 4.70

  • Fabric/Material:

Steel

  • Finish:

Stainless

Pros:

  • Same shape and construction as an OEM connector (maybe even more durable, though).
  • Highly polished surfaces remove grit from your trigger movement.
  • Reduces trigger pull weight by about 1 pound, for a 4.5 pound trigger press.
  • Retains all the stock safeties and trigger press characteristics to keep your pistol as close to unmodified as possible.

Cons:

  • Stock travel and trigger break probably won’t impress competitive shooters.

The Apex Tactical Specialties Performance Connector is one of the best Glock connectors, in general. But the price makes this connector a really good deal for the money.

In terms of the shape and construction, the Apex Glock connector is virtually the same as an OEM connectorIt’s specifically designed to retain your Glock’s reliability and internal safeties.

However, the surface is highly polished to remove grit from your trigger press. And it reduces the pull weight by about 1 pound, to give you a nice 4.5 pound trigger press.

Additionally, this connector alone doesn’t change other aspects of your trigger press. The travel is about the same. And the break is very similar to a bone stock trigger break, with the same, very tactile and audible, reset.

This connector gives you a pull weight that’s generally accepted as good for duty and concealed carry. But it’s easier to get precise shots with this connector than a standard 5-pound Glock factory connector.

But the main reason this Apex Tactical accessory is an outstanding connector for a concealed carry gun is because Apex designed it to retain all the characteristics of your stock trigger—especially the safeties—while giving you a more manageable trigger press. So your carry gun remains almost unmodified.

Budget Glock Connector

Pros:

  • Polished nickel plated surface delivers remarkably smooth trigger movement.
  • Reduces your trigger pull weight to about 3.5 pounds.
  • Shortens your trigger reset just a tad.

Cons:

  • Might make the trigger press too light for some shooter’s duty and concealed carry preferences.

The Lone Wolf Distributors 3.5 Glock Connector is another connector that improves the overall feel of your Glock trigger press.

The main feature of this connector is that it’s not only finely polished, it’s also nickel plated to further reduce friction.

The Lone Wolf Distributors 3.5 Glock Connector is another connector that improves the overall feel of your Glock trigger press.

The main feature of this connector is that it’s not only finely polished, it’s also nickel plated to further reduce friction.

There are some very smooth connectors out there. But this one probably makes your Glock trigger the smoothest. If there’s any grit in your trigger movement with this connector, it’s most likely from your trigger bar and safety plunger.

This connector also takes almost a full 2 pounds off your trigger pull weight, leaving you with a reasonably light 3.5 pound trigger press.

Lastly, this connector also makes the reset a tad shorter. Granted, it’s not much shorter. It feels like a quicker reset rather than a shorter reset. But this connector will shorten your reset. So you can make faster consecutive shots.

I’ll leave it up to you to decide whether or not a 3.5 pound trigger press is too light for duty or concealed carry. But, if you’re the sort who prefers a 4 or 5 pound trigger on your duty or carry gun, this connector may not be ideal for you.

But, if the pull weight works for you, this Lone Wolf Distributors connector is a tough component to beat for the money.

Lightweight

5. Ghost 4.5 Ranger Connector

Key Specs:

  • Gun Type:

ALL Glock Models GEN 1-4 (except the Model 42 & 43 )

  • Fabric/Material:

Stainless Steel

Pros:

  • Factory polished finish makes your trigger press extra smooth.
  • Reduces trigger pull weight to about 4.5 pounds, which is a nice all-purpose trigger weight.
  • Skeletonized cutouts reduce the weight of this connector by a few fractions of an ounce, for those who are counting ounces.

Cons:

  • Probably won’t last as long as an OEM connector, though that’s still thousands of rounds.
Check on Brownells
Other Options

The Ghost 4.5 Ranger Connector isn’t a lightweight connector in the sense that it makes your trigger press lighter. The connector itself weighs less than other connectors.

In terms of the shape, this is essentially a factory Glock connector with skeletonized cutouts to reduce the weight. Full disclosure: the difference isn’t noticeable.

However, Glocks are the Legos of the gun world. So, if you’re trying to build the lightest Glock possible, this connector will shave off a few fractions of an ounce.

But this connector still offers a nice improvement to your trigger press, even if you don’t care about a few fractions of an ounce.

It reduces the trigger pull weight by about 1 pound, which brings it down to about 4.5 pounds.

4.5 pounds is a really good all-purpose trigger press. It’s heavy enough to meet most duty and concealed carry requirements. But 4.5 pounds is light enough that you could use this trigger connector in a competition gun.

In short, this connector makes your trigger easy to press without disturbing your point of aim, without compromising safety in any shooting context.

My only concern about this connector is the durability. There’s very little stress on your connector. So it’s not going to break. But there’s a chance that you might need to replace it a bit sooner than you’d need to replace a factory connector. It’ll still last for thousands of rounds, though.

That’s a small issue. And most shooters will never need to replace this connector. This is a good option if you need a lightweight connector that keeps your trigger heavy enough for duty or concealed carry.

For Concealed Carry and Duty Guns

6. Ghost Evo Elite Connector

Pros:

  • Virtually eliminates the resistance from hitting the safety plunger for a much more consistent trigger movement.
  • Removes over travel to help you keep your shots on target through multiple shots.
  • Retains your stock trigger pull weight.

Cons:

  • Not the way to go if you want a lighter trigger press.
Check on Brownells
Other Options

The Ghost Evo Elite Connector is designed to ensure that your first shot is a hit. It also helps with follow up-shots. But it’s got a few design features that help with the trigger press on your first shot.

First, it smooths out your trigger press when you press the trigger from the fully forward position.

With the stock connector, there’s a slight bit of resistance that you feel when the trigger bar hits the safety plunger. This connector helps reduce that resistance. That way you don’t feel any change in the trigger movement until you hit the true wall.

That means more consistent pressure through the trigger press and, therefore, a more precise first shot.

Additionally, this is one of the few trigger connectors that removes the over travelThis helps you keep your shots on target through multiple shots because your muzzle moves less between shots.

Lastly, this Ghost Inc connector is designed specifically for carry and duty guns. So it doesn’t reduce your trigger pull weight. Your trigger pull weight will still be between 5 and 6 pounds. Your trigger press will just be much smoother and more consistent.

If you need a connector that will improve your concealed carry and duty performance without changing your trigger pull weight, this is the trigger connector to get.

Competition

7. Ghost Inc Edge 3.5 Pound Trigger Control Connector

Key Specs:

  • Gun Type:

Gen 1-5 except for models 42/43/43X & 48

  • Finish:

Silver

Pros:

  • Removes the resistance from your trigger bar contacting the safety plunger.
  • Eliminates trigger over travel to help you keep you realign faster for faster follow-up shots.
  • Reduces your trigger pull weight to 3.5 pounds, which is very easy to press without disturbing your point of aim.

Cons:

  • Might make the trigger press too light for concealed carry, depending on your preferences.

Other Options

The Ghost Inc Edge 3.5 Pound Trigger Control Connector is one of the most popular connectors among competition shooters. That’s because this connector improves your trigger press at all stages.

Just like many of the other Ghost connectors, this trigger connector removes the resistance from your trigger bar contacting the safety plunger. So you get consistent resistance from the beginning of your trigger press through the break.

This connector also removes the over travel, which reduces muzzle movement between shots. That way you can get realigned for faster, more consistent strings of fire.

Lastly, this connector reduces your trigger pull weight to about 3.5 poundsIt gives you a very smooth, consistent, and light trigger that’s super easy to press without disturbing your point of aim.

This trigger might not be ideal for concealed carry or duty guns, since it makes the trigger press fairly light. But you can decide whether or not 3.5 pounds is too light for concealed carry or duty use.

But, if you want the smoothest and easiest trigger press possible, this connector will deliver. This is definitely the gold standard when it comes to improving your Glock trigger.

The Final Shot

The stock Glock trigger certainly leaves something to be desired. But it’s really easy and affordable to improve a Glock trigger.

A new trigger connector costs just a few dollars and takes a few minutes to install. It’s the very definition of “plug and play.”
