The Best Multi Caliber Suppressor for Suppressing ALL Your Guns

Last Updated on January 5, 2021.

Suppressors are expensive (a suppressor can cost as much as the gun you put it on). And guns are loud. But giving each gun its own suppressor could easily cost thousands of dollars.

So a multi caliber suppressor is an excellent option for those who have more guns than they can afford suppressors for.

Even if you can afford a suppressor for every gun, you can only shoot one gun at a time. Why not just get one suppressor (or a few) that will suppress your entire firearm collection?

Best Multi Caliber Suppressor Reviews: Calming Them Down

The best multi caliber suppressor is first on our list. The other best suppressors are listed in order of price.

The less expensive the suppressor, the higher in this article it is (though not necessarily better, just better priced).

Let’s hear ‘em.

1. SilencerCo Omega Suppressor - Overall Best Suppressor

The SilencerCo Omega Suppressor is one of the best selling suppressors of all time. That’s because it’s an excellent suppressor that’s not too expensive.

This suppressor reduces everything up to 308 Winchester to hearing safe levels. A 308 puts out 133.9 decibels of sound with this suppressor. That’s right at the hearing safe level. And even a 300 Winchester Magnum is below 140 decibels with this suppressor.

So this suppressor is capable enough for almost any rifle.

Also, it’s only 7.09 inches long. It’s not the most compact suppressor. But it’s also more compact than many competing suppressors that handle magnum rifle rounds.

This model is also compatible with a flush end cap and an Anchor Brake end cap that functions as a muzzle brake to reduce felt recoil. Unfortunately, you have to purchase the flush end cap separately.

For durability, this suppressor is made of titanium with stellite bafflesIt weighs less than a pound. And the stellite baffles last longer and require less cleaning than inconel baffles. So you get maximum service life and ease of use from this suppressor.

However, it won’t work with pistols because it doesn’t quite fit the larger diameter bullets.

But, if you want a suppressor that will fit multiple rifles—including most bolt guns—this suppressor is the way to go.

  • Makes everything from 5.7mm up to 308 WIN hearing safe.
  • Relatively compact.
  • Comes with a muzzle brake end cap.
  • Titanium and stellite construction makes this suppressor lightweight and durable.

  • Not compatible with most pistol rounds.
  • Flush end cap and alternative barrel mounts sold separately.

2. OSS BPR1 7.62/.300 Blackout Auto Suppressor - Budget Multi Caliber Suppressor

The OSS BPR1 7.62/.300 Blackout Auto Suppressor is a very capable suppressor that also helps protect your face from the gases that often blow back into your face when shooting with a suppressor.

This suppressor will work on everything up to 7.62mm. It’s not as quiet at some suppressors. It reduces the report of .308 rounds to 140 decibels. That’s good enough for defensive shooting.

However, it works best on 300BLK. It reduces the report of 300BLK to 134 decibels, which is exactly at the hearing safe level.

Unfortunately, it’s not rated for magnum calibers. So this isn’t a great option for bolt guns.

But this suppressor comes with a helix end cap that reduces back pressure and blows less gas in your face when you shoot. This is especially nice for a defensive rifle, since you most likely won’t be wearing eye protection.

The helix end cap is pretty long though. It brings the suppressor up to 11.75 inches in overall length, which is pretty bulky. However, with a standard end cap, this suppressor is just 7.4 inches long. But, if you want less gas in your face, you’ll need to use the helix end cap.

Even though the helix accessory makes this a bit heavy and bulky, this OSS suppressor is still quite capable. And it’s quite affordable. So it’s still a really cost efficient option for those who want to run a single suppressor on multiple rifles.

  • Reduces 7.62mm to near hearing safe levels and makes 300BLK hearing safe.
  • Helix end cap reduces gas blow back for more comfortable and safer shooting without eye protection.
  • End cap also functions as a flash hider and muzzle brake.

  • Helix end cap makes this suppressor fairly bulky and heavy.

3. Dead Air Armament Sandman-K Suppressor - Compact Multi Caliber Suppressor

The Dead Air Armament Sandman-K Suppressor is ridiculously small for a multi caliber suppressor. And it’s impressively well priced.

The big news is that this suppressor is just 5.4 inches long, and only adds 2.9 inches to the overall length of your rifle. It’s great for anyone who needs to suppress their rifle while keeping it compact.

And this suppressor handles everything up to 7.62mm. So it will fit on a variety of rifles.

Also, this suppressor is built with stellite baffles that last longer and require less cleaning than inconel baffles.

However, this suppressor is only rated for 25 decibels of sound reductionThe good news that it still reduces the common calibers to less than 140 decibels, which is good enough for defensive shooting.

But larger rounds will still be fairly loud. You may need a larger suppressor if you might be shooting something like a .308 inside your house.

However, if you have a short, smaller caliber rifle, this Dead Air suppressor will give you adequate sound suppression for self defense without compromising the maneuverability of your rifle.

  • Amazingly compact. Only 5.4 inches long.
  • Handles everything up to 7.62mm.
  • Stellite baffles provide exceptionally long service life and require minimal cleaning.
  • Reduces the report of most rifle rounds to less than 140 decibels.

  • Larger caliber rounds (i.e. .7.62x38 and .308) will still be fairly loud, especially inside a house.

4. Dead Air Armament Sandman-L Suppressor - Value Multi Caliber Suppressor

Remember that larger suppressor I said you’d need if you might need to shoot larger rounds inside your house? The Dead Air Armament Sandman-L Suppressor is that larger suppressor. However, it’s still reasonably compact.

This suppressor offers much better sound suppression than it’s little brother. It reduces the report of everything up to .308 to hearing safe levels. And it’s even strong enough for some magnum calibers.

However, the added sound suppression means additional bulk. This suppressor is 8.9 inches long. So it’s going to cost you a bit of maneuverability.

But you get the same stellite baffles as the smaller Sandman suppressor. So this one will last a long time and requires minimal cleaning.

And the end cap functions as an integrated flash hider to reduce your visual signature as well as your sound signature.

Yes, it’s a tad on the bulky size. But this suppressor is extremely capable. It’s an excellent option for anyone who uses larger caliber rifles, or wants a single suppressor for their semi-automatic and bolt-action rifles.

  • Excellent sound suppression. Makes everything up to a .308 hearing safe.
  • Stellite baffles are durable and require minimal maintenance.
  • End cap functions as an integrated flash hider.

  • A tad bulky.

5. NEMO Arms Nomad Multi-Cal Suppressor - Multi Caliber Suppressor for Bolt Action Rifles

The NEMO Arms Nomad Multi-Cal Suppressor offers an excellent mix of performance and size. It’s one of the smallest suppressors available that’s capable of suppressing magnum rounds.

This suppressor gives you 32 decibels of sound reduction on everything up to 300 Winchester Magnum. For some of the magnum rounds, it won’t be perfectly hearing safe. But it’s close.

And this suppressor is only 7.5 inches long, overall. So it’s an excellent option for those who want a suppressor for a defensive rifle and a bolt gun. Or shooters who just want superior sound reduction from a smaller suppressor.

Also, this suppressor is constructed with titanium and inconel. So it’s fairly lightweight. And inconel baffles are the industry standard for durability.

This model will last just as long as most competing suppressors, though not quite as long as suppressors with stellite baffles.

Interestingly, this suppressor still weighs 16 ounces, even with the titanum construction. It’s not the lightest suppressor. But the high-density construction is probably necessary to get such good sound suppression from a 7.5-inch suppressor.

Then, this suppressor comes with one of the best flash hiders that’s included with any suppressor.

It works as a quick detach mount for the suppressor. And it’s a perfectly adequate flash hider. But, to me, it’s one of the best looking suppressor-compatible muzzle devices. So you get good aesthetics with or without your suppressor.

This NEMO suppressor is creeping up on the higher end of the price spectrum. But it delivers a really strong mix of sound suppression and maneuverability that’s hard to beat.

  • Reduces the report of most rifle rounds to hearing safe levels, including many magnum rounds.
  • Reasonably compact, considering the excellent noise reduction.
  • Titanium and inconel construction helps keep weight down and delivers industry-standard durability.
  • Included flash hider is excellent.

  • A tad on the heavy side.
  • Very simple aesthetics—the suppressor is literally just a black cylinder.

6. Surefire SOCOM Series Sound Suppressor - Full-Auto Multi Caliber Suppressor

The Surefire SOCOM Series Sound Suppressor is one of the suppressors selected by the USSOCOM for operational use in U.S. special operations units. And this suppressor is built for use on machine guns.

This suppressor reduces the report of everything up to .308 to less than 140 decibels. For smaller rounds, this suppressor will make the report hearing safe. However, even with a larger round, this suppressor is good enough for defensive use.

However, that’s just the start.

This suppressor features a burly blast baffle and an integrated blast shield to reduce gas blow back. And there’s a ton of internal venting that reduces back pressure.

All this helps keep your firearm’s cyclic rate normal. And it makes it far more comfortable to rapid fire your gun.

So this suppressor is ideal for fully-automatic firearms. And it’s certainly durable enough for any semi-automatic rifle. It might be a bit overbuilt for a bolt-action rifle, though.

Also, this suppressor is compatible with all Surefire quick detach muzzle devices, which gives you the broadest selection of muzzle devices of any suppressor. Unfortunately, Surefire muzzle devices are expensive. Plan for that added expense.

The suppressor itself is a bit on the pricey side, as well. But if you want an amazing suppressor for a large caliber semi-automatic rifle—or if you have the credentials to get fully-automatic firearms—this suppressor is an excellent option that will hold up to ridiculous amounts of abuse.

  • Excellent sound reduction brings the report of everything up to .308 down to less than 140 decibels.
  • Beefy blast baffle and integrated blast shield increase durability and reduce gas blow back.
  • Internal venting reduces back pressure and maintains the normal cyclic rate of fully-automatic and semi-automatic firearms.
  • Compatible with all Surefire quick detach muzzle devices.

  • Fairly bulky. 9.3 inches long, overall.
  • Heavy.
  • Expensive.
