1. Leapers UTG PRO Ruger 10/22 Picatinny Rail Mount - Overall Best Ruger 10/22 Scope Mount

The UTG Pro equipment is almost always a remarkably good deal. That’s why the Leapers UTG PRO Ruger 10/22 Picatinny Rail Mount is the overall best Ruger 10/22 scope mount: it’s really affordable. And it’s very high quality.

There are three key performance elements that make this scope mount great:

First, this model is very rigid. This ensures that your scope is going to hold its zero, even if you’re hard on your rifle.

Then, the finish on this scope mount is excellent. UTG has really stepped up their manufacturing game.

The hard coat anodizing on this scope mount is thick and durable. It’s even relatively smooth. Overall, the hard coat anodized finish is one of the nicest on Ruger 10/22 scope mount market.

Lastly, this scope mount uses a skeletonized picatinny rail. This reduces the overall weight. And it gives you a sight channel for using backup sightsIt’s a lightweight design that enables you to use two sighting systems for better reliability.

Other than that, all the standard features are in place. The rail is 6061-T6 aluminum with laser etched T-markings.

Overall, this isn’t just a great scope mount for the money. It’s a great scope mount, period.

Pros

  • Very rigid aluminum construction ensures that your scope stays zeroed, even through hard use.
  • Thick, durable hard coat anodizing with a relatively smooth surface finish.
  • Skeletonized picatinny rail reduces the overall weight and enables you to use backup sights.
  • 6061-T6 aluminum offers super durable construction.
  • Laser etched T-markings.

Cons

  • Cutouts in the picatinny rail offer a pretty narrow sight channel for using backup sights.

2. Ruger Scope Base Adapter for 10/22 Rifle - Budget Ruger 10/22 Scope Mount

The Ruger Scope Base Adapter for 10/22 Rifle is super affordable. And it’s made by Ruger. That way, you can be sure it will fit.

This is a super simple rail that accepts almost any scope rings, including dovetail Tip Off rings and Weaver detachable top mount rings. In short, this scope mount is quite versatile.

It comes with all the mounting hardware you need. And it’s a low profile mount that places your optic fairly close to the top of your receiver.

There are just two potential drawbacks.

One: this scope mount is silver. It will give a black Ruger 10/22 a two-tone look. You may or may not be into that.

Two: this scope mount has no cutout for using backup sights. That also may or may not be an issue for you.

But, this Ruger scope mount is ridiculously affordable. And it’s a solid scope base that’s pretty much guaranteed to fit, because it’s made by Ruger.

Pros

  • Super affordable.
  • Includes all the necessary mounting hardware.
  • Accepts almost any scope rings.
  • Keeps your optic fairly close to the top of your receiver.
  • Silver finish looks cool, if you’re into that.

Cons

  • No cutouts for using backup sights.

3. Midwest Industries Ruger 10/22 Rail Scope Base - Value Ruger 10/22 Scope Mount

The Midwest Industries Ruger 10/22 Rail Scope Base is a super affordable scope base. And it’s quite sturdy.

This scope mount is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum. And it’s hard coat anodized. Standard stuff. The hard coat anodizing is thick. And the finish is matte.

However, the anodized finish isn’t quite as smooth as some other manufacturers’. But it’s very wear resistant.

The design element that makes this scope mount unique is that it’s also a bit of a riser.

This model mounts your scope a bit higher off your receiver than most other scope mounts. This makes it faster and easier to acquire your sights if you keep your head more upright when you shoot.

My only complaints about this scope mount are these:

First, there are no T-markings. That’s not really a big deal, though.

However, a more legitimate complaint is that some of the edges are a bit harsh. They could have dehorned the corners a bit better.

Even so, this Midwest Industries model is an excellent scope mount. And it’s very affordable. It’s a great option if you prefer your optic mounted just a bit higher.

Pros

  • Machined from 6061-T6 aluminum.
  • Hard coat anodizing is thick and wear resistant.
  • Mounts your optic or scope a tad higher on your receiver, for a more upright head position.

Cons

  • Corners are a bit sharp from the machining.
  • No cutouts for using backup sights.

4. Tactical Solutions Scope Base 15 Moa Black Fits Ruger 10/22 - Lightweight Ruger 10/22 Scope Mounts

Ruger 10/22 scope mounts are pretty lightweight, in general. But, if you’re counting ounces, the Tactical Solutions Scope Base 15 Moa Black Fits Ruger 10/22 is an excellent option. It’s also a solid scope mount, in general.

This model is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum. And the hard coat anodizing is very well applied. It’s very thick, wear resistant, and there’s no chalkiness in the finish. Overall, the build quality is excellent.

However, the big deal is the minimal, lightweight design.

The picatinny rail is completely skeletonized, which is the main method for reducing the weight. This skeletonization also provides a sight channel for using backup sights.

Granted, the skeletonizing isn’t designed as a sight channel. So it’s a tad narrow. But it works.

Then, this Tactical Solutions scope mount is very low profile. This also keeps the weight low. And it brings your scope closer to the receiver, which makes it easier and faster to acquire your sights if you tuck your head when you shoulder your rifle.

This isn’t the least expensive scope mount. However, it’s sturdy. And it shaves off a few fractions of an ounce for those that are trying to keep their Ruger 10/22 as lightweight as possible.

Pros

  • Machined from 6061-T6 aluminum for maximum durability.
  • Hard coat anodizing is very well applied.
  • Skeletonized rail and minimal design keep the weight as low as possible.
  • Skeletonized picatinny rail provides a sight channel for backup sights.
  • Low profile design keeps your optic close to your receiver for those who tuck their head into their rifle.

Cons

  • Skeletonized rail provides a fairly narrow sight channel for backup sights.

5. DNZ Products Riflescope Mounts for Ruger - One-Piece Ruger 10/22 Scope Rings

Although you can mount just about anything to a picatinny rail, you may prefer scope rings for more simplicity and fewer screws. The DNZ Products Riflescope Mounts for Ruger gives you scope rings that are just about as simple to install as a picatinny rail.

That’s because these scope rings are connected by a 6061-T6 aluminum base. The base secures to your 10/22 receiver the same way a picatinny rail does. But the scope rings are the traditional style.

The rings are 1-inch in diameter. That fits the vast majority of scopes. So this model offers excellent scope compatibility.

Additionally, this scope mount is offered in 3 different mount heightsThat way you can mount your scope where it matches your line of sight and gives you the fastest possible sight acquisition.

And this DNZ model comes in 3 different colorsblacksilver, and camo. Choose the finish that matches your rifle.

This scope mount is a true scope mount. It’s not useful for mounting a red dot or holographic sight.

But it’s a simple and relatively affordable option for those who want to use traditional scope rings without mating them to a picatinny rail.

Pros

  • Machined from 6061-T6 aluminum.
  • Offered in 3 mount heights to match your shooting technique.
  • Available in 3 finishes to match your rifle.
  • Gives you a pair of 1-inch scope rings.
  • Single-piece design is simple and easy to understand.

Cons

  • Scope rings have fixed spacing, which may or may not fit your scope.

6. Talley Lightweight Scope Mount - Ruger 10/22 Scope Ring Mount

Talley markets the Talley Lightweight Scope Mount as a lightweight scope mount. And these rings are certainly lighter than using a picatinny rail and mounting a pair of rings to the rail.

That’s because these rings mount directly to your receiver. It’s the most minimal mounting solution, with the least metal. That keeps the weight low.

The downside to this design is that you can’t adjust the spacing between your scope rings. You have to put the rings where the drilled and tapped holes are.

However, these rings come in 1-inch and 30mm. They’ll fit just about any scope.

And these rings come in multiple mount heights. That way you can set up your scope so that it matches your line of sight with whatever shooting technique that you use.

My main complaint with these rings is that they’re secured with TORX screws. It’s not that TORX screws are bad, overall. I’d just prefer allen screws, since most of us have an allen wrench or two lying around. But TORX wrenches are less common.

But that’s mostly just a preference. If you want a super lightweight scope mount that requires no picatinny rail, these Talley rings are the way to go.

Pros

  • Simple, lightweight rings mount directly to your receiver. No picatinny rail needed.
  • Available in 1-inch and 30mm for maximum scope compatibility.
  • Offered in multiple mount heights to accommodate any shooting technique.
  • Rugged construction with a very durable hard coat anodized finish.

Cons

  • Secures with TORX screws rather than allen screws.
