1. Ruger 10/22 Fiber Optic Front/Rear Sight - Overall Best Ruger 10/22 Sights

Ruger seems aware that the factory Ruger 10/22 sights are only okay. That’s why they made the Ruger 10/22 Fiber Optic Front/Rear Sight. It’s an affordable sight set that’s better than the stock sights in almost every way.

First, these sights are fitted with fiber optic rods in both the front and rear sights. I’m not a huge 3-dot lineup type of guy. So the fiber optic dots in the rear sight aren’t a huge deal for me.

But the red fiber optic insert in the front sights makes it much easier to find your front sight. It makes sight acquisition notably faster.

And, if you do like the 3-dot lineup method, these sights have all three dots. And they’re super easy to see.

Additionally, these sights are adjustable for elevationThe adjustment range is the same as the factory sights.

The only bummer is that these sights adjust with a screw. There are no notches or clicks. So you kind of have to eyeball your elevation adjustments. But the sights do adjust.

But, these sights are manufactured by Ruger. And they almost always fit perfectly and install pretty easily.

If you need a straight over upgrade for the factory iron sights on your Ruger 10/22 that will work as primary sights or as backup sights for your optic, these sights are a solid, affordable option.

Pros

  • Fiber optic inserts in the front and rear sight make your sights super easy to acquire and align.
  • Adjustable for elevation just like the factory sights.
  • Fit is excellent and installation is easy.

Cons

  • No clicks or notches for elevation adjustment.

2. Ruger 10/22 Standard Front Sight - Ruger 10/22 Front Sight

If you have the standard Ruger sights with the black front post, the Ruger 10/22 Standard Front Sight are a super simple and economical upgrade.

This essentially just an enhanced version of the factory front post.

First, the face is serrated to reduce glare and give you a flatter black front sight for better contrast.

Then, there’s a brass insert on the bead that gives you a brighter aiming point to pick up when you’re acquiring your sights.

It’s simple and effective. This front sight helps you take faster shots and get accurate hits.

It’s also manufactured by Ruger. So the fit is usually perfect, which means there’s almost never any surprises during the installation.

However, this Ruger 10/22 front sight is a very basic upgrade. If you’re looking for a more advanced sighting system, this probably won’t hit the spot for you.

But, if a basic upgrade is all you want, this sight is the most affordable way to go.

Pros

  • Serrated face reduces glare and enhances contrast for faster sight alignment.
  • Brass bead gives you a brighter focus point for faster sight acquisition.
  • Excellent fit and easy installation.

Cons

  • Not ideal if you’re looking for a major overhaul of the factory sighting system.

3. Williams Gun Sight Fire Sights - Budget Ruger 10/22 Sights

I’m a huge fan of the HK style ghost ring sights. And the Williams Gun Sight Fire Sights give you a really nice ghost ring sight picture for your Ruger 10/22.

I already gave away the big secret. But these sights have a full ring on the front sight. And the front sight is fitted with a fiber optic insert that makes it super easy to pick up your front sight as you shoulder your rifle.

At the other end, these sights use an M16-style peep sight aperture. It’s a nice setup because it enables you to use your entire aperture for sight alignment, since the front ring aligns with the rear aperture.

Lastly, this sight is adjustable for elevation. The elevation adjusts with a screw, just like the Ruger fiber optic sights.

It’s a simple adjustment method. However, there are no clicks or notches. You have to gauge your elevation by the number of turns on the adjustment screw.

But, that’s really the only downside to these sights.

Oh, they’re also aluminum. Even though they look pretty bulky, they’re actually quite lightweight.

And they’re surprisingly well-pricedIf you’re looking for a more precise sighting option that doesn’t target your wallet, these William Gun Sight model are the sights to get.

Pros

  • Full ring on the front sight and rear peep sight give you a precise ghost ring sight picture.
  • Fiber optic front sight makes it easy to acquire your sights for faster shots.
  • Adjustable for elevation.
  • Aluminum construction is strong and lightweight.

Cons

  • No clicks or notches on the elevation adjustment.

4. KNS Precision Ruger 10/22 Iron Gun Sights - Precision Ruger 10/22 Sights

You can mount a scope or red dot optic on a Ruger 10/22 (and we’ve covered those options in other articles). However, .22LR has a fairly limited range. If you have good vision, you can use the KNS Precision Ruger 10/22 Iron Gun Sights to mimic the performance of a scope at a far lower price point.

That’s because these sights give you a duplex crosshair. There’s no glass. These are just iron rings with crosshairs. But they give you the same sight picture as a 1x scope with a duplex reticle.

The sight picture is excellent for getting maximum precision with iron sights. And they’re easier to install and zero than a scope.

These sights are constructed from heat treated steel. So they’re a tad heavy. But they’re also bombproof.

Unfortunately, they’re not adjustable. But you can use the duplex sighting system to estimate overholds, if you need them.

If you’re looking for a more precise sight system for your Ruger 10/22 without paying for a scope your red dot, these KNS sights are an excellent compromise between glass and iron.

Pros

  • Gives you a duplex sight picture that mimics a 1x scope.
  • Constructed from heat treated steel for incredible lifespan and durability.
  • Better for overholds than the standard iron sights.
  • Easier to install and zero than a scope.

Cons

  • A bit on the heavy side.
  • Not adjustable.

The Hiviz LITEWAVE Interchangeable Front and Rear Sight Combo for Ruger 10/22 are the most direct upgrade for your factory sights.

This sight set is essentially the standard Ruger 10/22 sights with a fiber optic front sight. It’s simple. But it’s also nice because you won’t have to adjust to a different sighting system.

These sights come with a couple perks, though.

The fiber optic insert for the front sight is interchangeable. There are 8 different colored inserts in the package. So you can customize your front sight color however you want.

Additionally, the rear sight has 2 high visibility inserts on either side of the notch, which make it much easier to line up your sights in low light.

These sights are adjustable for elevation, just like the factory sights. And there are range linesThat way you don’t have to just eyeball your elevation adjustments.

Unfortunately, you need a tiny screwdriver to adjust the elevation. So it’s not the most field expedient system.

Also, some shooters have found that these sights take a bit of effort to install because the fit is very tight. You may want to have a gunsmith install these sights for you.

But, once they’re installed, you get almost the exact same functionality that you get from the factory sights. But it’s much easier to shoot quickly and precisely with these Hiviz sights.

Pros

  • Comes with 8 different colored fiber optic front sight inserts.
  • High visibility inserts on the rear notch make it much easier to use your sights in low light.
  • Adjustable for elevation, with range marks for more precise adjustments.
  • Gives you the exact same sight picture and functionality as your factory sights.

Cons

  • Elevation adjustment requires a tiny screwdriver.
  • Extremely tight fit occasionally makes installation tricky.

The Williams Gun Sight Ace In The Hole For Ruger 10/22 w/ Fiber Optic Front Sight are easily your best bet if you want to mount an optic on your 10/22 and use your iron sights as backups.

First, these sights are very similar to the Williams Sight Fire Sights.

The rear sight is an M16 style aperture, just like the Sight Fire Sights. And the front sight has a fiber optic insert for better visibility and faster sight acquisition.

And the rear sight can be adjusted for elevation.

However, the front sight is just a front post. There’s no HK style ghost ring aperture.

But, the rear sight is mounted to the rear end of a picatinny railThese sights give you backup sights AND a rail for mounting your optic. It’s a two-for-one slam dunk.

And these sights are low enough to use with a sight-through optic mount. That way you can use your backup sights without removing your optic.

These sights are a bit pricey, as Ruger 10/22 sights go. But the utility is outstanding. And you’ll save on the cost of a mounting rail for your optic. So the cost efficiency is excellent.

Pros

  • Fiber optic front sight for good visibility and fast sight acquisition.
  • Rear peep sight offers excellent precision from your iron sights.
  • Integrated picatinny rail for mounting optics.
  • Low enough to use as backup sights without removing your optic.

Cons

  • A bit expensive.
