Time to jerk some of these triggers.

Apex Tactical Specialties is definitely one of the premier trigger manufacturers. They make excellent hardware. I’m not at all surprised that the Apex Tactical Specialties Flat Forward Set Trigger Kit for Sig P320.

This kit is just a trigger shoe and a trigger bar. The installation is super simple. All you need is a punch to remove and install a few pins. There’s no permanent modification to your frame or stock trigger module.

The simplicity offers another benefit, though: since the modification is minimal, this trigger kit retains all the factory safeties and drop safety values. That way you can use this trigger kit in a carry or duty gun.

This trigger also complies with the USPSA’s guidelines for competing in the production division.

But how does it perform? Apex says that this trigger kit makes these improvements to your trigger press:

  • Reduces travel by about 30%.
  • Reduces the reset by about 20%.
  • Reduces the pull weight by 30%.

Now, I can’t verify the math. But this trigger definitely improves your trigger press.

Regardless of the specific percentages and numbers, you’ll notice the shorter trigger movement and lighter pressIt’s much easier to make high-precision shots with this trigger.

Lastly, the trigger shoe is a flat-face trigger. This is nice for a couple of reasons.

First, the trigger face is almost the same shape as the stock X-Series trigger. If you’re accustomed to the X-Series trigger, you won’t need to train at all to get accustomed to this trigger.

Second, the trigger press stays the same regardless of where your finger rests on the trigger. This helps keep your trigger press consistent, even if your grip and trigger finger placement isn’t perfect.

That makes it easier to get the accuracy you need when you present from the holster or transition from a table in a 3-gun match or something similar.

But what if you prefer a curved trigger? Apex has you covered.

The Apex Tactical Specialties Curved Forward Set Trigger Kit for Sig P320 is the same trigger kit. But the trigger shoe is a classic curved trigger.

The curve is fairly mellow. That way you don’t get any strange trigger pressure if you mistakenly place your trigger finger a bit too high or low on the trigger.

The only real downside to this trigger kit is that it doesn’t work with P320 models that have a thumb safety. If you’re the type who prefers a manual safety, this trigger kit isn’t for you. Sorry.

But, if you have a standard Sig P320, this trigger kit is by far the simplest and most affordable ways to significantly improve your trigger press. And it’s got enough trigger shoe options to meet anyone’s preference.

Pros

  • Simple trigger kit is simple to install and requires no permanent modification to your trigger module.
  • Retains all the factory safety and drop safety values.
  • Noticeably improves your trigger press.
  • Usable for competing in the USPSA Production Division.
  • Offered with a flat-face or curved trigger shoe.

Cons

  • Not compatible with thumb-safety models.

Apex Tactical Specialties is up again. This trigger comes in 2 different models:

  1. Apex Tactical Specialties Sig P320 Flat-Faced Action Enhancement Trigger.
  2. Apex Tactical Specialties Sig P320 Advanced Curved Trigger.

Choose the one that matches your preference.

The flat-faced model is most similar to the stock Sig X-Series trigger.

And it helps keep your trigger press consistent, even if your trigger finger placement isn’t perfect.

On the other hand, the curved trigger gives you a more classic feel. And some shooters prefer a curved trigger if they use a curved trigger on their other guns, like their carbine.

Now, this is just a trigger shoe. This trigger doesn’t reduce the pull weight.

However, it does reduce the travel and reset just a little bit. It’s not huge. But you do get a slightly shorter trigger movement to help you press your trigger without shifting your point of aim.

Additionally, since it’s just a trigger shoe, this Apex Tactical trigger installs quickly and easily. And it’s compatible with thumb-safety models.

If you want to improve your trigger press without reducing the pull weight—and without breaking your wallet—this is the trigger to get. It’s simple and effective.

Pros

  • Available in flat and curved models.
  • Reduces the travel and reset just a bit.
  • Super quick and easy to install.
  • Compatible with thumb-safety models.

Cons

  • Does not reduce the pull weight.

3. Grayguns Sig Sauer P320 Adjustable Trigger - Adjustable Sig P320 Trigger

The Grayguns Sig Sauer P320 Adjustable Trigger is (also) available in 2 models:

  1. Grayguns Sig Sauer P320 Adjustable Trigger Straight.
  2. Grayguns Sig Sauer P320 Adjustable Trigger Curved.

This trigger is adjustable. But maybe not the way you think.

These kits are only the trigger shoe. There are no springs. Technically this trigger doesn’t reduce the pull weight of your trigger press.

However, the flat faced model allegedly gives you better leverage over your trigger. Even though the pull weight stays the same, your trigger press will FEEL lighter because it requires less effort to press.

Unfortunately, the curved model doesn’t offer this benefit. But the shape is very similar to the stock Sig P320 trigger. So it’ll feel natural right out of the box, if you’re accustomed to the standard Sig P320 trigger.

However, both models will make your trigger movement smoother. It also makes the break a tad more crisp. And this trigger makes the reset more tactile.

It just makes your trigger press feel a bit better, overall. Though, admittedly, it only slightly improves the break. The Sig P320 already has a really nice break. So I can’t blame this trigger for the marginal improvement.

The big news with this trigger, though, is the adjustability.

The pull weight isn’t adjustable. This trigger gives you adjustable over-travelThat way you can remove almost all of the movement after the trigger breaks, if you want.

It might not seem like a huge deal. But it removes excess movement between trigger presses for faster follow-up shots. That way you can pull off very rapid strings of fire with as much precision as possible.

One last note: this trigger retains all of your pistol’s internal safeties and drop-safe attributes. So this trigger is appropriate for carry or duty guns.

This Grayguns trigger might feel a bit expensive for a simple trigger shoe. However, it’s the most affordable option (and the only option) if you want adjustability from your trigger.

Pros

  • Quick, simple installation.
  • Flat-faced model gives you better leverage over your trigger, for a lighter trigger feel.
  • Improves the overall feel of your trigger press.
  • Slightly better break than a stock trigger.
  • Adjustable over-travel to help you make faster follow-up shots.

Cons

  • Does not actually decrease your trigger pull weight.

The Grayguns Sig Sauer P320 Competition Hybrid Trigger System is the most complete trigger kit you can get. It’s essentially a complete trigger overhaul.

This kit replaces all the springs in your trigger module. And this kit comes with an upgraded sear, as well.

Between the springs and the improved sear, this trigger can reduce your trigger pull to around 4 pounds.

And it achieves this without compromising any of the internal safeties or drop safety values on your handgun. There’s no safety compromise in reducing your trigger weight to 4 pounds.

Additionally, this kit includes the Grayguns adjustable trigger. That way you can also adjust the over-travel. The trigger shoe also smooths out the trigger movement.

All that gives you a near perfect trigger press. That’s why this is the trigger to get if you’re a competitive shooter.

And, even though this is a very complete kit, it’s not too difficult to install. Of course, messing with springs can be tricky. But you can probably install this kit without taking your P320 to the gunsmith.

However, occasionally, you will need to do some fitting to get this trigger installed. If you find that this kit doesn’t fit quite right, don’t force anything. Take your gun to a gunsmith so they can make the necessary fitment.

The main downside to this kit is that Grayguns only recommends that you use it for competition and range shooting. They do not recommend installing this kit on a carry or duty gun.

I’m not entirely sure why they recommend against installing this kit on a carry or duty gun, since all the safeties remain intact. A 4 pound trigger press might be on the lighter end. But it’s not too light for tactical shooting.

However, if you have a competition Sig P320, this trigger will give you an amazing trigger press, which makes it as easy as possible to get accurate hits out on the competition grounds. It might be a bit pricey. But it’s worth it.

Pros

  • Includes upgrades for all the springs in your trigger module and the sear.
  • Trigger shoe offers adjustable over-travel.
  • Reduces trigger pull weight to as low as 4 pounds.
  • Retains all the internal and drop safeties on your gun.

Cons

  • Not recommended for carry or duty guns.
